Killzone 3 might be a long way from the February 11, 2011 release date, but that is not stopping Killzone 3 Senior Producer, Steven Ter Heide, from showing off the new level of controls with Playstation Move. Using Move, Heide walks us through the basic movement and identifies a clear distinction between Dualshock and Move- the location of the cursor. As you navigate the levels and aim the move stick at the screen it will move the on-screen cursor, unlike the center aligned cursor we’re familiar with using the Dualshock. The aim helpers available with the Dualshock controller are not available when using Move. To compensate for this Killzone 3 for Move features “alter aim”, an auto-aim feature available by pressing the L2 button. Both aim helpers and “alter aim” are only available when playing the game on the Easy Mode, with your choice of full lock, half lock or no lock in the settings menu. [Video after the jump]
Our first impressions are that the gameplay looks amazing and as fluid as we’d hope in a third generation FPS. Response to using Playstation Move are accurate and the overall look and feel of the game has us excited for the release.
